Design ~ Build

Wells Cathedral Table

I designed and built this Dutch Pull-Out coffee table, drawing inspiration from the cathedral in Wells, England. The strongest influences can be seen in the scissor arches between the table tegs and the veneer pattern based off the vaulted ceiling in the Chapter House.

Mirror

This laminated oak frame was designed and built to house an antique Victorian mirror from Birmingham, England. I preserved the original c.1890 newspaper that had been used to line the back of the glass in the original frame.

China Hutch for Yacht

I built this bi-pass door hutch to fit into a very constricted space on a luxury yacht. The cabinet was built to fit a 95-degree corner while maximizing interior storage. It also includes a covered wire chase to conceal existing wiring in the space.

Settee for Yacht

This settee was built for a live-aboard yacht. I designed and built the frame for maximum storage within the settee while allowing access to storage compartments in the bulkhead behind. The curved corners are custom laminated panels to which a matching veneer was applied. The seats were later upholstered by others. Additional curved panels and custom moulding were supplied for other areas of the yacht.

Wheelchair Ramp

The brief for this project was to design and build a sturdy and stable wheelchair ramp for long-term use, but not permanent installation in the home. It is secured to the stairway, but can be easily removed when no longer required. The textured surface is painted to provide maximum security while matching the other colours and furnishings in the space for a more comfortable fit and finish.
