Design ~ Build

Mud Room Storage

Here is the 3D rendering of a project I designed and built. This was designed to hold various baskets of gloves and hats and the like, as well as provide space for children’s school bags, coats, and shoes. It takes up virtually every inch of free wall space in a tiny mud room, and the small space doesn’t allow for photographing the completed project.

Isometric Ellipse

This is a bit of work I did that I’m particularly proud of. When creating 2D isometric drawings, the ellipse required to properly show a circle on an isometric plane is hard to get right. My initial approaches and research queries were unsuccessful. However, I’m a bit of a geometry buff and my knowledge paid off! This picture represents what was on my screen after my discovery, basically, showing how to locate the centre points of the circles used in the drawing of the ellipse, the radius, and the sections of those circles used in the ellipse. As well, there are three isometric planes drawn as proof of concept. In the end, I have a very simple technique I can use in the future!

Urban Smiles Dental Office

(work completed for Island Precision Manufacturing)

Urban Smiles Dental Office, Victoria BC

I created shop drawings and engineered product for this project. It features oak boards cut and finished to resemble aged barn-wood on columns and beams, sliding doors, shelves, and pony walls throughout the public areas of the building. There is a feature wall made of random sized boards behind the reception desk.
